Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where do you fly?

A. We fly throughout the state of Hawaii and the pacific rim. If there are projects to be flown overseas, we can undertake those assignments also.

Q. Are any special requirements necessary? Or special arrangements?

A. It all depends on the airspace in which we are flying. If the airspace is controlled, such as Class B, or Military, or our survey site is close to the borders of such airspace, it may require special arrangements to be made with the controlling agencies of that airspace, and therefore may require a longer waiting period prior to receiving such permissions. It would behoove you as the client to inform us of as to the scope and area as soon as possible so that we may proceed in making the appropriate arrangements to fly your project.

Q. Are there any restrictions that we should be aware of?

A. There are restrictions that come into this kind of work, however with some planning and foresight we can negate most of them, the only one we have no control over, is weather. Unlike the mainland where a lot of flat land and predictable weather, Hawaii is very unique, and likewise the weather does play a large factor in determining if we can fly that day or not. Also, your own project guidelines determine along with the days forecast if we can fly that day. Not all flying projects are the same and we would have to make a individual determination based on location and what kind of flying your project requires. Altitude also plays a big part since there are many different cloud layers in Hawaii on any given day. Most mainland companies do not take this into consideration when agreeing to a project and the result is lost time and revenue. So plan for it.
